The Art of Landing Pages and Home Pages

If you are involved in digital marketing, you’ve often heard the terms “landing page” and “home page.” But what are they exactly? Are they interchangeable or serve distinct purposes in a successful digital marketing strategy? And how can you optimize both to drive customer engagement and conversions? Let’s dive in and explore these topics.

What is a Home Page?

The home page is the digital ‘front door’ of your business. Visitors typically see the first page when they type your business URL into their browser. Its primary purpose is to provide an overview of your business and guide visitors to other sections of your website through navigation menus.

The home page must be comprehensive and appealing, as it serves a wide range of purposes – from informing first-time visitors about your brand and offerings to providing regular updates for returning customers. It’s a general-purpose page that links to all other important areas of your site.

What is a Landing Page?

A landing page, on the other hand, is a more targeted web page crafted with a single goal or call to action (CTA) in mind. It’s where a visitor ‘lands’ after clicking a specific link from an email, advertisement, or search engine result. These pages are often used in marketing campaigns to guide visitors toward a particular action, like signing up for a newsletter, purchasing, or filling out a form.

Unlike a home page, a landing page is designed to limit the options available to visitors, removing distractions and focusing their attention on the desired action. This focused approach can significantly improve conversion rates.

The Key Differences

While both landing pages and home pages are critical parts of any website, their purposes, audiences, and structures are distinct. Here are the key differences:

  • Purpose: The home page gives an overview of your business, while a landing page is focused on a single conversion goal.
  • Audience: The home page caters to a wide audience, including new and returning visitors. In contrast, a landing page is created for a specific segment of your audience who’ve shown interest in your ads or marketing emails.
  • Structure: The home page has a navigation menu linking to various sections of your website. A landing page has minimal navigation to reduce distractions and guide visitors to the CTA.

How to Excel at Both

Here are 3 of the best practices to excel at home pages:

Clear Navigation: Your home page should be easy to navigate, with clear menus that guide visitors to important areas of your website.

Compelling Value Proposition: Showcase your unique offerings and what makes you stand out. Your home page should quickly convey who you are, what you offer, and why visitors should choose you over competitors.

Engaging Design: An aesthetically pleasing design, combined with compelling content, can create a positive first impression and increase the time visitors spend on your website

Now that we’ve talked about the home page’s best practices let’s discuss landing pages:

Focus on One Goal: Each landing page should have a clearly defined goal. Whether downloading an eBook, signing up for a webinar, or purchasing, the entire page should be crafted around this goal.

Compelling Headlines and Copy: Use persuasive headlines and copy to convey the value of your offer. The copy should be easy to understand, highlighting the benefits of your offer and why visitors should act now.

Eliminate Distractions: Remove unnecessary navigation elements and links that could distract visitors from your primary goal. The simpler the page, the higher the chances of conversion.

Wrapping Up

Both home pages and landing pages play crucial roles in your digital marketing strategy. While they serve different purposes, understanding and optimizing these differences can significantly improve your online performance.

The Art of Crafting Compelling Copywriting

Crafting copy that hooks readers, ignites their imaginations, and drives them to take action, is no easy task. Here, we will delve into the finer nuances of creating compelling copywriting that resonates.

The role of copywriting has become ever more pivotal. Copywriting is not just about putting words on a page—it’s an art form that combines psychology, creativity, and a deep understanding of your audience. But first…

What is Copywriting?

A form of content creation, copywriting involves creating compelling text that effectively markets a product, service, or concept to a target audience. It aims to persuade readers to take desired actions, like buying a product, attending an event, or subscribing to a mailing list.

Know Your Audience

Understanding your target audience is paramount before putting your fingers on the keyboard. What do they need? What drives them? What language resonates with them? You can tailor your message to hit the right chords by answering these questions. Your audience isn’t one size fits all, and understanding the diversity within your audience allows you to craft compelling copy that appeals on an individual level. Once you have a solid understanding of your audience, you’re ready to define your purpose.

Write with a Clear, Singular Purpose

Every piece of copy should have a clear, well-defined purpose. Whether it’s to persuade, inform, or entertain, the objective needs to guide the structure and tone of your copy. Part of defining your purpose includes incorporating compelling calls-to-action (CTAs). CTAs are vital in guiding your audience toward a desired action, whether signing up for a newsletter or sharing your content.

Personalized CTAs increase conversion chances by 202%. The strategic placement of persuasive CTAs can significantly increase engagement and conversion rates, making them indispensable tools in effective copywriting. By ensuring every word, including your CTAs, work towards the same goal, you can create copy that is cohesive and directed toward achieving your objectives. With the purpose and CTAs well-defined, let’s harness one of the most effective tools in copywriting–storytelling.

Harness the Power of Storytelling

Stories are powerful tools. They captivate, inspire, and, most importantly, they stick. When crafting your copy, consider weaving a narrative. Stories connect your brand and the reader, making your message more memorable. They’re an excellent way to highlight the benefits of your product or service without resorting to overt selling.

The best copywriting elicits emotion. It goes beyond simply stating facts and figures; it makes the reader feel something. Whether it’s the joy of discovering a life-changing product or the urgency to seize a limited-time offer, emotions are a powerful motivator for action. Incorporate this into your copywriting to make it more persuasive and engaging. Once your audience feels something, it’s time to choose your words wisely.

Choose Your Words Wisely

Copywriting is a form of art where the medium is language. The words you choose are crucial to creating the desired impression. Opt for simple, clear, concise language over jargon and complex phrasing. Use active voice instead of passive voice for a more direct and engaging tone. Remember, the aim is to communicate effectively, not to perplex. With your words ready, let’s now focus on persuasion.

The Art of Persuasion

Copywriting is inherently persuasive. It’s about convincing your reader to take action. Use proven techniques such as:

  • Scarcity, an example, could be “only a few left.”
  • Social proof, an example, could be “join thousands of our satisfied customers.”
  • Reciprocity, an example, could be “get a free gift with your purchase” to motivate your readers.

These techniques tap into basic human psychology, making your copy more effective. Once you have crafted a persuasive piece, it’s time to add some finishing touches.

Polish Your Copy

Like any good artwork, your copywriting piece requires refining. Always review and revise your copy for any possible improvements. Remove unnecessary words, fix awkward phrasing, and ensure it’s free of grammatical errors. It is also an excellent time to verify that your copy aligns with your brand’s voice and tone. Once your copy is polished, the final step is to put it to the test.

Test and Optimize

Finally, test your copy. A/B testing, where you compare two versions of your copy to see which performs better, is a tried-and-true method. By continuously testing and optimizing, you can identify what works best for your audience and improve your overall copywriting effectiveness.

Final Thoughts

Compelling copywriting is the cornerstone of customer engagement and can be the determining factor that sets your brand apart in a saturated digital landscape. Mastering the art of crafting compelling copy is a process that takes time. It takes a deep understanding of your audience, a clear purpose, a knack for storytelling, and the ability to evoke emotion. It requires careful word choice, polished language, and tested persuasion techniques. Above all, it requires constant refinement and optimization to remain relevant and effective.

Email Marketing and Why It’s More Relevant Than Ever in 2023

In the dynamic landscape of digital marketing, it’s essential to pay attention to the tried-and-true method of reaching out to your audience: email marketing.

Despite being one of the earliest forms of digital communication, email marketing in 2023 has survived and thrived. Email marketing has remained an indispensable part of any robust digital marketing strategy. With improvements in personalization and automation, it’s time to pay attention to the potential of this marketing platform.

Let’s discover how you can harness the power of email marketing for your business in 2023.

Email Marketing: A Powerful Tool in the Digital Era

Email marketing is more than sending newsletters to a list of email addresses. It’s about building relationships, boosting brand awareness, and driving tangible business results. It’s using emails to promote products or services while nurturing relationships with potential and existing customers.

As of 2023, there are over 4.3 billion email users worldwide, projected to grow by 11.1% in just four years. This massive user base presents vast opportunities for businesses aiming to reach out to potential customers. With such an extensive reach, email marketing remains a highly effective way to connect with a global audience.

Email marketing consistently delivers a remarkable return on investment (ROI. For every $1 spent on email marketing, businesses earn an average of $42. This is a testament to email marketing’s ability to drive conversions and enhance customer relationships. How is email marketing relevant in this social media age?

The Strength of Email Marketing in a Social Media-Dominated World

Unlike social media, email marketing allows personalized communication tailored to individual customers. It provides robust segmentation based on demographics, buyer behavior, and purchase history. Tailored email content significantly improves open and click-through rates, boosting conversions.

Emails provide a direct line to your audience without the noise and distraction of social media platforms. Emails land in your customer’s inbox, where they can be read at their convenience. This direct access is handy when conveying crucial information about your brand, product updates, offers, and more. Now, let’s delve into how to harness these strengths and how to use them to your email marketing advantage.

Harnessing the Power of Email Marketing in 2023

Growing a quality email list is the backbone of successful email marketing. One crucial trend in 2023 is the importance of consent and transparency. Users are more aware of their digital rights and privacy than ever before. Ensure that your email list consists of consumers who have willingly provided their email addresses and expressed a clear interest in receiving your content.

The idea is to entice potential subscribers with value. Offer valuable content, exclusive deals, or insider access in exchange for their email address. This method gives you a solid base of interested subscribers and aligns with the GDPR regulations and similar privacy norms.

With smartphones being the primary device for checking emails, optimizing your email marketing for mobile is non-negotiable in 2023. Mobile-first design means prioritizing the mobile experience when designing your emails. This includes simple layouts, clear call-to-actions (CTAs), and ensuring all links and buttons are tappable. Remember, an email that is difficult to read or navigate on a mobile device will likely get deleted within seconds.

Email marketing offers a green solution in the wake of increasing environmental consciousness. It’s paperless, reducing the carbon footprint, and resonates with customers who prefer doing business with environmentally responsible brands.

The Art and Science of Email Marketing

A successful email marketing strategy is built over time. It’s a mix of understanding and objectives, crafting compelling content, and analyzing results. On mobile devices, attention spans are shorter. Keep your content concise and to the point, and ensure CTAs are clear and prominent.

In the world of email marketing, A/B testing is your best friend. This process involves tweaking one aspect of your email to see which version your audience prefers. Experiment with different email formats, subject lines, and CTAs to find what resonates best with your audience. You can optimize open rates, click-through rates, and conversions.

Final Thoughts

As we step further into 2023, it’s crucial to seize the unique benefits email marketing offers. Its extensive global reach, high ROI, and ability to facilitate personal, direct customer relationships make it an indispensable tool in any digital marketing strategy.

Seven Key Components of a Successful Digital Marketing Strategy

A well-defined and structured digital marketing strategy can be the key that transforms businesses.

An omnichannel marketing strategy is essential for marketers to take advantage of the growing digital marketing opportunities for acquiring and retaining customers – so they can win more sales. In this blog, we will dive into the seven key components that form the foundation of a successful digital marketing strategy. Let’s begin!

Why is Digital Marketing Strategy Crucial?

In the ever-evolving digital landscape, a robust marketing strategy is no longer a luxury; it’s a necessity. It provides a solid foundation for your marketing efforts, acting as a roadmap to steer all your online campaigns.

At Onimod Global, we stress the importance of a comprehensive strategy that aligns with your unique business goals and reflects the nature of your target audience. In this era of digital information overload, the only way to stand out is by communicating your brand’s message in the most personalized, engaging, and efficient manner possible.

What is an Omnichannel Marketing Strategy?

An omnichannel strategy is a sales and marketing method to deliver a seamless and consistent customer experience across all touchpoints.

In omnichannel marketing, every channel is interconnected to offer customers a consistent and unified experience. By offering a seamless, integrated experience across all channels, businesses aim to improve customer engagement, brand loyalty, and overall sales. In other words, a 360-degree approach is needed for a robust and effective digital marketing strategy.

Seven Key Components of a Successful Digital Marketing Strategy

Here are the seven critical components of a successful digital marketing strategy:

Business Goals: All digital marketing strategies should revolve around your business goals. These goals form the core of your digital campaigns, helping you measure success and adapt to market changes. Whether increasing brand awareness or driving sales, your business objectives should be clear, measurable, and achievable. These goals serve as the foundation and guiding force for all marketing efforts.

Short-term business goals refer to the objectives and targets a company aims to achieve within a relatively short time frame. These goals often focus on immediate results and can serve as stepping stones toward achieving long-term objectives. Key aspects of short-term business goals can include revenue and sales targets, operational efficiency, or customer satisfaction and retention.

Long-term business goals are broader objectives a company aims to achieve over an extended period, typically spanning multiple years. These goals are more strategic and focus on the business’s growth, sustainability, and competitive position. Critical aspects of long-term business goals can include market expansion and growth, brand building, or corporate social responsibility.

Target Audience: Understanding your audience is crucial in tailoring your digital marketing strategy. By defining your audience’s demographics, interests, and online behavior, you can create personalized content that resonates with them and ultimately converts them into loyal customers.

Finding your target audience is crucial in digital marketing because of the vast number of social media users, which currently stands at 302.35 million. With such a large and diverse user base, identifying and understanding your specific target audience becomes essential to ensure that your marketing efforts are effective and impactful.

In a sea of millions of social media users, finding your target audience enables you to cut through the noise, stand out from the competition, and build meaningful connections with the people most likely to be interested in your products or services.

Budget and Resources: The effectiveness of a digital marketing strategy is significantly influenced by the budget and resources allocated. Ensuring that resources are well-distributed across various marketing channels can maximize reach and ROI.

Changes in algorithms, trends, or user behavior can significantly impact your reach and engagement. By diversifying your marketing across various channels, you mitigate the risk of relying on a single platform and ensure your message reaches your audience through different avenues. Therefore saving money in your budget for your campaigns.

Competitive Analysis: Observing and learning from your competitors can provide valuable insights. By analyzing their strategies, you can identify gaps in the market and opportunities for differentiation. Remember, competitive analysis is an ongoing process. Continuously monitor your competitors’ activities and adapt your strategies accordingly to maintain a competitive edge in the market.

Marketing Channels: Choosing the proper channels for your digital marketing strategy is critical. Whether social media, SEO, email marketing, or PPC, your channels should align with your business goals and audience preferences.

Assess the relevance of different marketing channels to your business and target audience. Consider factors such as the channel’s user base, engagement levels, reach, and the nature of content that performs well on that channel. Marketing channels and trends evolve over time, so be prepared to adapt and iterate your channel selection as needed.

Content Strategy: A content strategy is a comprehensive plan that outlines content creation, distribution, and management to achieve specific business goals. Content is the lifeblood of your digital marketing strategy. A strong content strategy can boost SEO, foster customer engagement, and drive conversions. Remember, quality always trumps quantity.

Metrics and KPIs: Last but not least, tracking your progress is essential. Identify metrics and KPIs that align with your business goals. This will allow you to measure success, identify areas for improvement, and adjust your strategy accordingly.

Regularly review and analyze the data to gain insights into your performance and identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement. Using metrics and KPIs effectively, you can gain valuable insights, track progress, and make data-driven decisions that drive your business forward.

The Smart Approach to Measuring Your Digital Marketing ROI

ROI (return on investment) measures the effectiveness of your marketing efforts by assessing the return you receive on the resources invested.

Whether you’re a small business owner or manage the marketing of large enterprises, comprehending the impact of ROI on your digital marketing strategy is vital.

At Onimod Global, we believe in delivering valuable results and measuring success. In this blog, we will walk you through the ROI process and tips on achieving a return on investment. Here’s what you need to know.

Understanding ROI

In the world of digital marketing, ROI represents the return on investment. In simpler terms, it’s the benefits you gain against the costs you have invested in your marketing efforts. It’s critical to understand ROI because it helps determine the effectiveness of a campaign and provides insights to shape future strategies.

By focusing on ROI, you gain valuable insights into your marketing initiatives. This data-driven approach allows you to make informed decisions, allocate resources, and refine your tactics for maximum impact. Whether optimizing your website’s performance, refining your social media campaigns, or investing in paid advertising, ROI provides a framework for evaluating your investments. Let’s take a look at the benefits of measuring ROI.

Why Measure ROI?

Measuring ROI is more than just a financial concept. It’s a robust measurement of the effectiveness of your digital marketing campaign. It can be an eye-opener that helps identify what works and what doesn’t, allowing you to channel resources more flexibly.

The entire premise of marketing ROI is to validate that the funds allocated are not wasted but result in a net gain. 83% of marketers use metrics to measure content performance, only 51% understand how their content is performing, and the remaining 17% either don’t use metrics or need to know if metrics are tracked. Without measuring ROI, you’re essentially marketing in the dark.

How To Measure ROI

Understanding the importance of ROI is one thing, but knowing how to measure it is another. Here are some steps you can take to enhance your ROI.

  • Set Your Goals: Before measuring success, you must know what it looks like. Set clear, measurable goals at the onset of your campaign. Your goals might be increasing website traffic, boosting conversion rates, or generating leads.
  • Track Conversions: Identify the actions that you consider to be valuable – this might be an app download, a completed purchase, a subscription sign-up, etc. Set up a system to track these conversions. Use tools like Google Analytics to do this.
  • Assign Monetary Value: Calculate how much each conversion is worth to you. Monetary is the average purchase value if you’re running an eCommerce store. Calculate this as the average revenue per lead if you’re generating leads.
  • Calculate Costs: Sum up all the expenses associated with your marketing campaign. Costs should include everything from ads to the cost of content creation, software subscriptions, and staff salaries.
  • Determine ROI: You can calculate ROI. Here’s your formula: (Gains from Investment – Cost of Investment) / Cost of Investment. This formula will give you the ROI ratio, which you can convert into a percentage. If your ROI value exceeds 0 percent, you are losing money.

Once you have measured your ROI, you can then transition to identifying strategies and actions to improve it further.

Improving Your ROI

Improving your ROI can significantly benefit your business by increasing profitability, maximizing resource utilization, and making more informed decisions for future investments. By enhancing your ROI, you can optimize your business’s performance and drive sustainable growth. Consider the following strategies:

  • A/B Testing: Experiment with different versions of your ads, landing pages, or emails to see which ones perform better.
  • Targeting: Fine-tune your audience targeting to ensure you’re reaching the right people. Targeting involves using different keywords, demographics, or interests in your ad targeting.
  • Optimize Landing Pages: Improve your landing pages to increase conversions. Optimizing landing pages could involve changing the design, the copy, the call to action, or the user experience.

Remember that improving ROI is an ongoing process that requires constant evaluation and adaptation. By implementing these strategies and working with a digital marketing agency, you can enhance your ROI and drive tremendous success for your business.

Google Introduces New Search Console URL Inspection API

Yesterday Google introduced the new search console URL inspection API. This will give programmatic access to URL-level data for properties you manage in Search Console.

According to Google’s news release on the topic, “the Search Console APIs are a way to access data outside of Search Console, through external applications and products. Developers and SEO tools already use the APIs to build custom solutions to view, add, or remove properties and sitemaps, and to run advanced queries on Search performance data.”

Google will be providing a new tool with the new URL Inspection API for developers. The tool will assist in debugging and optimizing their pages. You can request the data Search Console has about the indexed version of your URL. The API is going to then return the indexed information currently available in the URL Inspection tool.

How to use the new URL Inspection API

In order to learn how to use the new API, Google also has provided the developer documentation for the API which you can find here. The request parameters are a combination of the URL you are wanting to inspect from yours or your client’s site, and the URL of the property as defined in Search Console.

The response includes analysis results containing information from Search Console, including AMP, index status, rich search results and the mobile-friendliness of the URL.

The Google release also explains how “once you make the API call, you will get a response with all relevant results. If the request fails you would receive an error message instead. If a specific analysis result is missing from the response, it means the analysis was not available for the URL inspected. Here’s an example of the response you’ll get from the API.”

Final Thoughts

The entire release of the new URL Inspection API can be found on Google’s blog. In addition to Google news and other digital marketing updates, we will continue to share case studies and the latest SEO updates to help you drive your business. Our goal is to ensure we help improve your marketing and drive success.

3 Ways To Check Your Website’s Technical SEO Health

Regardless of how great your content may be, the ranking of your website and its traffic will suffer if there are issues with your technical SEO. This is why it’s crucial to perform routine SEO health checks so you can stay up to date on the performance of your website and constantly optimize for the best performance.

Website crawlers – to know them is to love them

A Web crawler, sometimes called a spider or spiderbot and often shortened to crawler, is an Internet bot that systematically browses the World Wide Web and that is typically operated by search engines for the purpose of Web indexing.

It’s one of the most powerful assets you have when working on your website and trying to optimize it. Your website links are an essential tool to use in determining what pages are the most important content to your target audience, and not all of your links are created equal.

What that means is essentially there are ways to heavily optimize and influence what Google sees as the most important pages of your site. It also will help Google and other search engines to direct traffic to certain areas of your website.

Ensure search engines are rendering the page correctly

Crawlers are essential to ensuring your pages are rendering correctly. If your website’s content isn’t optimized for these bots, it won’t show up in your bots and may not render correctly. There are ways to avoid this, and that includes marketers presenting their content in a format that both searchers and crawlers can view.

“Things that require user clicks and user involvement will be difficult, if not impossible, for bots to reach,” Ashley Berman Hale from SMX Next said. “Go to the most popular pages and enclose important content in Google quotes to see if they’re included.”

Another thing you can do to improve the technical SEO is to see the rendering of your pages is to use Google’s mobile-enabled tools to take a screenshot of what everything looks like.

Review indexing for your site’s pages

If you find that Google and other search engines are crawling and that they’re correctly rendering your sites, check all of the indexed pages. A page is indexed by Google if it has been visited by the Google crawler (“Googlebot”), analyzed for content and meaning, and stored in the Google index. This gives you the clearest indication of the state of your site, highlighting selected pages, excluded pages, and why search engines made those decisions.

“You can check everything that Google sees, which is insightful,” said Hale, “ While half of our battle is getting the good stuff into the index, the other half can be getting the bad stuff out.”

3 Tips For Ranking Higher On Google Maps In 2022

Whether you’re a local small business, a bigger brick and mortar, or anywhere in between, there is no arguing that your Google Maps ranking is one of the most important factors in your online presence. Did you know that 80% of local searches result in a conversion? If you aren’t taking advantage of the opportunity to rank in local searches coming up in 2022, you’re missing the chance to increase lead generation, attract more in-store traffic, and of course reach higher conversions and revenue.

But the hard hitting question: how do you maximize local search? Simple answer: marketing on Google Maps. Keep reading to learn what digital marketing strategy we recommend heading into 2022 and how to rank better on Google Maps to generate higher leads and generate more revenue.

Why your Google Maps listing matters

Google Maps is the most popular map app in the U.S. with over 150 million active users. Millions of people are on the app daily and searching for services to locate businesses meeting their needs. As you think to further market your business locally, you can make big strides in maximizing the benefits of Google Maps by ranking high in relevant searches.

In addition to how relevant this is to the daily smartphone user, consumers often arrive at business listings via direct brand searches, keyword searches, and local discovery searches. With so many ways to get discovered by consumers, optimization has several benefits, which includes:

  •  Providing customers with more ways to engage with your brand
  • Appearing in the local vicinity with high ratings
  • Boosting visibility of your business

Steps to higher ranking

  1. Optimize your listing
This is the simplest yet most important aspect to increasing your visibility on Google Maps. This particular listing is what your audience sees when they search through Google Maps. If you want to help your listing appear higher in Google Maps search results, you must optimize your listing. This includes adding your business name, phone number, accurate opening hours, and all of the basics. Whether someone sees your information on your Google My Business listing, Facebook, or your website, this information should be the same across all platforms.
  2. Place products at the top of your listing
Information just released by Google and Search Engine Land explains how you can now add product placement at the top of your Google Maps listing and your Google Business Profile, formerly Google My Business. Read more from Search Engine Land on this topic here.
  3. Reviews are key to success
It can’t be stressed enough how important reviews are to your Google Maps listing. Reviews are crucial to increasing your brand trust and developing transparency around your business. If the Google review is negative, you should always leave a response doing your best to resolve any issue.

3 Simple Ways To Optimize Responsive Search Ads

Google’s responsive search ads, also known as RSA, have existed alongside the original expanded text ads (ETAs) for the past several years. The goal has been to give marketers more formats for their campaigns. Since then, the now default RSAs are quickly being set up to be the only text ad format moving forward into 2022.

Experts at Onimod Global would advise that you start optimizing RSAs to stay ahead of any competitors. Here are three simple suggestions that Onimod Global gives to marketers to improve your RSA effectiveness.

Analyze your asset labels

Google Ads’ asset labels can be very useful by showing you which assets are performing well and which assets you should replace after the RSAs serve. These kinds of assets should be monitored for roughly two weeks, then the idea would be to replace those that are underperforming.

When you open up your RSA, Google gives you a breakdown of all headlines and descriptions. The labeling they give to each asset is based on how they performed overall. Thus this RSA data can be very useful information and provide insight transparently on what is performing well for you and where you can save ad dollar.

Use variations of headlines

Using a variety of headlines in your RSAs can allow marketers to use more keywords, which can enable the ads to reach even more potential customers. The more Google variations the better, because using a variety can increase your CTR. Also according to Frederick Vallaeys, co-founder and CEO of PPC management software company Optmyzr, in his session at SMX Next “If you give Google more variations then the CTR goes up because they’re able to show the right ad to the right user at the right time.”

One important note to add: just because you are experiencing spikes in CTR doesn’t necessarily mean you’re conversion rate has increased. Some data shows they actually decrease with more headlines. Fortunately, adding more headlines also increases total impressions as it gives Google more flexibility to create the ideal ad for each situation, leading to more impressions per RSA. How you view these outcomes is completely dependent on your goals for the text ads in general.

Take advantage of smart bidding automation

Smart bidding automation is often times a very helpful tool when it comes to preventing ads from showing up to the wrong groups. If you’re doing manual bidding and allowing Google to show your RSAs to audience members that my not be as likely to convert, then that’s in the end a problem for your SEA budget since your manual bids are not going to be able to handle that.

However, when combining smart bidding and Google automatically showing the right ad to the right customer, even if that includes a bit more of broad matching, you can achieve very good results for text ads. This tactic holds up  in court by plenty of search data backing up this recommendation. Marketers that make the switch from ETAs to RSAs, using the same assets, in campaigns that use broad match and smart bidding see an average of 20% more conversions at a similar cost per conversion, according to Google. If automation is the future of search ads (which most likely is the case for all future SEAs and social media advertising), it is very senseful to use Google’s machine learning systems in every fullest extent possible.

Long-Tail Keyword Guide: How To Use In 2021

Are you exhausted of trying ranking for the same highly competitive keywords as your competitors? Here are two and a half words that will help you solve this problem: Long-tail keywords.

There are so many benefits of highly targeted search terms packed with intent. Onimod Global experts are here to help break down the definition of long-tail keywords and how to use them to your advantage.

What are long-tail keywords?

By definition, long-tail keywords are longer and much more specific keyword phrases that users will likely use to guide them to their desired destination faster. This usually also occurs when they’re closer to a purchase or when the visitors are using voice search. Long-tail keywords can be extremely valuable if you know how to use them.

Here’s an example to explain: if you’re a furniture company, most likely the odds are that your pages won’t often rank or appear near the top of an organic search for “furniture” because there’s too much competition (this is particularly true if you’re a smaller company or a startup). But if you specialize in, say, a specific type of vintage furniture, then keywords like “vintage victorian style desk” are going to reliably find those customers looking for exactly that product on your page.

Managing long-tail keywords is essentially just a matter of establishing how you communicate the product or service you’re selling between your business and the customers who are already out there that are actively searching or shopping for what you provide.

Note that the actual length of these keywords technically isn’t relevant. Long-tail keywords tend to be at least three words long due to their specificity, but precise low-volume searches that are only one or two words long (such as many brand names) are also considered long-tail keywords.

How to use long-tail keywords in 2021

Standalone broad keyword strategies are a matter of the past. Years ago, hunting for long-tail keywords with a seemingly low search volume probably seemed and felt like a waste of time and effort. However, long-tail keywords contain so much opportunity in order to connect with your audience which are likely to be converting and paying customers.

In 2021 (almost 2022), the combination of Google’s increased focus on user experience and search intent, and the steady increase of conversational search and voice search, means that long-tail keyword SEO strategies are more important than ever before. Incorporating these can be a real game changer for your company.

Long-tail keywords are also a crucial part of optimizing for ensuring your content is connecting with your audience by showing them exactly what they’re searching for. We live in an age where 55% of millennials use voice search daily. When these users query these platforms, they use long-tail keyword phrases such as questions (what are the best cafe’s with matcha lattes nearby?) and commands with clear intent (compare the price of the blazer from Zara and H&M).

Put yourself in the shoes of the customer to predict the intent behind naturally spoken and voice search questions so that you can provide the most clear and direct answers about your business and services and better target these long-tail keyword phrases. Even better than guessing what your customer’s are guessing, we suggest to do market research and ask a group of people in your target market for their Google searches relative to your content and product and/or service.
